Mother * Wife * Artist

I'm not sure if I knew I loved to draw the moment I first wrapped my fingers around a crayon, but since I was a little girl I have enjoyed recreating the things I see physically or in my imagination through art: oils, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, pencil or even crayon. My mom noticed my early "talent" and signed me up for art lessons when I was five years old, which I continued on and off again through my years in middle school and high school under local artist Gene Feller. I continued my pursuit of learning and refining my skills through elective classes on drawing and painting at Bucknell University while I was completing my chemistry and Spanish degrees. While I have no formal training as far as degrees are concerned, I strongly believes that education never ends in art and in fact every area of life: everyone can and should keep learning. I’ve sought out instruction, workshops, and demonstrations while maintaining a somewhat sane life as a working mom of two little girls.

No skill can be mastered completely; there is always room for improvement and instruction from others is invaluable. I, for certain, am always striving to improve my paintings, advance my skill and consider myself to always be searching for "my style." I don’t paint as often as I’d like, but revel in when others are inspired by the projects I have completed; I love sharing these works or similar ones with these admirers and it drives me to create more.

My paintings stem from emotions, atmosphere and mood. I paint a wide variety of subjects; I find that an image that inspires me in an instant in time is one that goes into my collection of "to paint" images. As I capture each inspiration on canvas, I look forward to when it can delight someone enough to add it to their collection of art.

I hope you enjoy my page and the works presented here!
